Community Guidelines

Where these rules apply

These guidelines apply to all content made public through Friends Recipes, including shared recipes, usernames, display names, ingredients, instructions, and notes.

Prohibited content and behavior

Do not post, promote, request, or facilitate:

• Hate speech or discriminatory abuse targeting protected or personal characteristics.
• Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threats.
• Sexually explicit, exploitative, or abusive material.
• Graphic violence or encouragement, praise, or instruction of violence.
• Promotion of self-harm or dangerous behavior.
• Illegal activity or instructions intended to facilitate illegal activity.
• Doxxing or publication of another person’s private or identifying information without permission.
• Impersonation, fraud, or other deceptive behavior.
• Spam, advertising, contact solicitation, or malicious and misleading links.
• Copyright infringement or content you do not own or have permission to share.
• Manipulating the reporting system, evading blocks, or repeatedly reposting content that was removed.
• Dangerous food-safety instructions presented in a way that is likely to cause harm.

Moderation and enforcement

• Public recipe and profile text is screened before publication.
• Content may be rejected automatically when it does not pass that screening.
• Users can report shared recipes and block accounts from a recipe’s overflow menu.
• Reported content can be hidden while the moderation team reviews it.
• Content that violates these guidelines may be removed.
• Repeated or severe violations may result in sharing restrictions, account suspension, or account deletion.
• Attempts to evade enforcement may lead to additional account action.

Urgent, credible safety reports are targeted for review within 24 hours. Other community reports are targeted for review within 48 hours.

Reporting, blocking, and appeals

To report or block from the app, open a shared recipe and use its overflow menu. The 1500 Support page provides step-by-step instructions and an email fallback.

Blocking removes the account’s recipes from your experience, removes both accounts from each other’s search results, and ends follow relationships in both directions.

To provide context or appeal a moderation decision, email nick@shedlab.studio. Include the relevant recipe title, username, and a concise explanation. Never send passwords, magic links, payment information, or sensitive personal data.

Not an emergency service: this inbox cannot provide emergency assistance. If someone is in imminent danger, contact the appropriate local emergency services immediately.
